I doubt the majority of those here will be able to grasp what a goddamn work of tortured genius this is. "Oh it's just a porno" but it is in fact the Anti-porn. John Stagliano aka "Buttman" pretty much single-handedly invented the gonzo genre of modern porn. But he contracted HIV from a Brazillian transsexual in S. America. This film is a primal scream reaction to his situation. It's brilliant. It's as serious a piece of art as "un Chien Andalou" or Cocteau's "Beauty and The Beast". You can have a bunch of snarky dipshit comments as ya usually do, but I am really trying to turn you on to something with gravity and resonance. Buttman Confidential is the work of a tormented soul. It plays like a four-and-a-half hour suicide note from its creator, Evil Angel founder and gonzo originator John Stagliano.

The content of BC is often quite disturbing as, for much of the video, Stagliano alternates between masturbating, ingesting various drugs, and blabbering out of control.

While screening a Euro Angels tape in the workroom of his house, Stagliano addresses the camera and says, "The only way to see if this is any good is to sit here and jerk off to it. But first I have to prepare." He then takes two hits off a pipe (not the kind traditionally associated with tobacco use). He doesn't jerk off for long, as his movement causes videotapes to fall on top of him from a bookcase above. This leads Stagliano in a new direction. He takes one of those cassettes (a German porno) and watches it in another room, jerking off to that until the lack of a close-up on a girl's asshole upsets him.

"Why the fuck didn't they get a close-up on that? Why? Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Get a close-up on it! Fuck!" He then hums the 20th Century Fox fanfare and proclaims that he, Buttman, will save the German video. He jumps up, raises his arms and pretends to fly like Superman into the television.

What follows is mind-boggling: A psychedelic video-kaleidoscope of asses and female bodies is plastered across the screen for almost 10 minutes (9:50, to be exact). If Stagliano had directed 2001, it would look something like this.

Later in the video, he's shooting pretty-girl footage at his house when Jeff "Hatman" Marton shows up and, unable to resist the model's charms, indulges in a full-fledged sex scene with her. The girl's deep throat ability is remarkable and the two share a very heated exchange, but the scene is dampened by subsequent John Stagliano Masturbation Theater.

The climax of this macabre epic arrives when Stagliano gets a blowjob (unprotected) from a transsexual, and later eats the tranny's ass (unprotected) and sucks her dick (unprotected).

BC is a catharsis for Stagliano. The drugs he uses (captured on tape) act as a truth serum. Under their influence, he laments about lost love and opportunities. "When the pressure of life, and love, and finding that one person that I could love was presented to me, I failed under pressure."

This is what Buttman Confidential is all about. And it's not pretty.
