How little I care about sport(s)

by Nora Rocket | 06/17/2008 | in Boston | drinking | home life | sports

First, a comment: in the UK and former colonies, it's "sport" singular and "maths" plural, whereas in the ol' U.S. of A., it's "math" and "sports." I love that.

And now, Sport.

The Celtics are really sticking it to the Lakers in these closing minutes of the first half of game whatever-it-is. I do not care for basketball, but if I were a sports fan, now would be a good time to be in Boston. But I'm not. I just want everyone to have fun. No one loses when the score is fun to fun. Or when everyone's getting rich beyond my plebian imagination.

In addition, the cool evening breeze coming in through my window smells like a ton of Febreeze. It's gross. Time to time a male shout cuts the air, just a breath after the event airs on my television. It's eerie, being isolated in my disengaged apartment while the vast majority of other units, other houses, other blocks, and pretty well the entire city keys up to celebrate tonight.

I'm going to do the dishes now. Things got domestically out of hand and my whiskey glasses are making the place smell like I'm on a bender. It was a good birthday, not a "bender" birthday.

I used to get beat up for sucking at basketball.

Souds fun though. One step closer to death, etc etc etc...

With a passion. This includes watching, playing and even thinking about it.

my favorite thing about sports are the athletes that compete in their physical competitions.

In high school we called them jocks. And they were usually throwing a piano out the window at a keg party or date raping some middle school girl in the upstairs hallway. Or maybe those were just the asshole fucktards that I went to high school with?

Anyway. I really liked it when I got slammed in lockers as the football players passed me in the hallways. It was really fun when I was in my back brace too.

good times.

I think it was the goalie, Eugene McPoo.
He pitched lots of strikes and a couple of spares too.
